Hi everyone! My name is Taylor, otherwise known as Ms. Frisch. This is my 7th year teaching and my 5th year teaching at CHIME. I feel very fortunate to be a part of the 2nd grade team and to be a part of the CHIME community! Prior to my journey at CHIME, I attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where I received my undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Child Development. I then went on to receive my Multiple Subject Credential through the ACT program at California State University, Northridge (and student taught here at CHIME!).
I believe that all students are capable of learning, but that all students learn differently. I try to create lessons that are fun and engaging so that my students enjoy waking up each day to come to school and hopefully to instill a lifelong love for learning within them.
When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my dog, Darla, my friends, and family. I also enjoy hiking, cooking, taking cardio barre, and spending time at the beach. I feel so fortunate to be a teacher because it is what I love to do. I am looking forward to getting to know all of your children and all of you as well! Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or comments! The best way to reach me is through e-mail!

Hello! I am Rachel Whitaker and this is my sixth year as a 2nd grade teacher here at CHIME! I graduated from California State University, Northridge with a degree in Liberal Studies in 2012. I completed the Accelerated Collaborative Teacher (ACT) Education Program at CSUN and received my Multiple Subject Credential in 2014. I had the privilege of finishing my student teaching here at CHIME with Mrs. Jamison. Upon completing my program, I remained a part of the CHIME community, substitute teaching through the end of the school year. I didn't want to leave! As luck would have it, upon Mrs. Jamison's promotion as the new 6th-8th grade Principal, I was offered this 2nd grade teaching position! I am very excited to be continuing my career at a school that stole my heart. While teaching is my passion, I also love traveling, baseball, going on food adventures, and spending time with my family and friends. I look forward to meeting your children this year! Please feel free to email me if you wish to introduce yourselves or have any questions! Here's to a fun and exciting new year!
Hello, my name is Courtney Hardisty-Laszlo. I have been part of the CHIME community for the last ten years. I started my journey as a para educator and then began my teaching career in the 2014-2015 school year. I completed my undergraduate degree at CSUN, majoring in Child and Adolescent Development. I then continued my educational coursework at CSUN and obtained my credential in Special Education. When I am not working, I enjoy hiking, painting and spending time with my family. I look forward to another year on the second grade team and meeting all of the incoming second graders! We are going to have a great year!

Hello, my name is Alyson Furnback and this is my first year working with the awesome community at CHIME! I moved to Los Angeles this summer after living in the Bay Area for twenty years. For the last twelve years I proudly supported the inclusion of people with disabilities as a special education teacher in San Francisco and Berkeley Schools. I am passionate about inclusive educational best practices and have a Special Education Master’s degree and teaching credentials from San Francisco State University. I’m excited to bring my love for inclusion to CHIME! In addition to this being my first year at CHIME, my six year old son will also be a first grader here. He is very excited to go to school with his mom every day! When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my partner and our two little boys. As a family we love exploring parks, museums, hiking and just being together. Since our family is new to the area any and all tips for local kid friendly fun are welcome! I’m excited to get to know your children and work with your family! I know we’re going to have a wonderful school year!
Hi, my name is Alex Yorke! I am so excited to come back for my second year at CHIME and feel so privileged to be a part of a rock star second grade team! Before my journey at CHIME began, I got my BA in Liberal Studies and Graphic Design from San Diego State University. I then went on to get my teaching credential through the ACT Program at CSUN. During the ACT program, I student taught with the fabulous Shelbi Doherty where I truly fell in love with CHIME! I taught first grade for two years after that and then couldn’t resist coming back to CHIME! I am so thrilled to be back and starting the CHIME theater program with my best friend Ms. Turk!
When I am not teaching I love to sing along to my favorite musicals (with Ms. Turk of course!). I also love to spend time with my husband and our fur baby, Teddy! Teddy and I go to school together to perfect his therapy dog skills. He, like his mom, LOVES kiddos!
I am so looking forward to a fun-filled year of learning together!
